What is a Mommy Makeover in Beverly Hills?
Motherhood brings us many joys and small miracles.
Unfortunately, changes that occur to the breasts and body are not one of those joys.
Pregnancy results in a laxity of the abdominal contour, and creates excess skin of the breasts, abdomen, and thighs.
Breast-feeding can result in loss of breast volume and sagging breasts.
Many of these changes cannot be corrected with diet and exercise.
For this reason, a mommy makeover is a full body procedure designed by Dr. Rovelo to give you back your pre-baby body.
This may include a breast lift (mastopexy), breast augmentation, liposuction, thigh lift, labiaplasty, or a Beverly Hills tummy tuck.
For all that you do for everyone else, do this for you.
If you are looking for the best plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, book an appointment with Dr. Rovelo to see how she can help you with a mommy makeover.

Who is a Candidate for a Mommy Makeover?
You may want to consider a mommy makeover if you have:
- Ptosis (sagging) of the nipples and/or breast tissue
- Loss of breast volume and elasticity
- Enlarged areolas and nipples
- Excess abdominal skin and fat
- Abdominal diastasis or laxity
- Areas of stubborn fat on the body that are resistant to diet and exercise
- A mommy makeover is best performed after the completion of childbearing. You should be stable at your goal weight.
How is a Mommy Makeover performed?
The specifics of a mommy makeover will depend on what each individual patient requires.
Traditionally, a mommy makeover includes a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction, and a breast lift/breast augmentation.
However, after your consultation with Dr. Rovelo, a surgical plan designed specifically for your body and your needs will be created.
Mommy Makeover Risks
All surgery is associated with risks. Risks associated with a mommy makeover include any of the risks associated with the individual procedures.
Abdominoplasty on its own carries a higher risk of blood clot formation; therefore, all mommy makeover patients that have an abdominoplasty are required to stay in an aftercare facility for one night of monitoring.
Although this risk is very low, we take all measures to prevent it from happening.
It is important to talk with Dr. Rovelo about the risks of your surgery and how the risks can be minimized to provide the best possible outcome.
Mommy Makeover Recovery
A mommy makeover is performed in the outpatient surgery setting, under general anesthesia.
Operating times will vary, depending on how many procedures are performed.
Patients will spend one night in an aftercare facility.
They will be seen in clinic on the first day after surgery, and then again at one week.
Patients who have an abdominoplasty may return to light activity or work after 2 weeks.
Patients may return to full strength activities and exercise after 6 weeks.
During the first 2 weeks, patients will need to wear an abdominal compression garment at all times, except when showering.
After 2 weeks, compression garments may be removed at night, although full-time is preferable.
Garments may be discontinued after 6 weeks.
If a breast procedure was performed, a soft non-underwire bra will need to be worn for 6 weeks, as well.
